an art journal of mine own

It's been awhile.

How are you dear ones?

I hope and pray that you are all well and able to enjoy this Beautiful Autumn...

As a start, and since I seem to already be on the subject of Art Journals....

Here is my own.

I simply could not bring myself to make a mark inside this book. It was too beautiful.

However... (after several years.. literally) I finally got up the courage (and inspiration) to make something even more beautiful than a blank book.... I made an Art Journal.

Oddly enough... The journal is the same as my sister Genevieve's. We both got one from Mom and both couldn't bring ourselves to use it. And After Gen decided to make it into an Art Journal, well... I decided to do the same. So.. not very original, but very inspired! :)

It started out with just my favorite verses...
Then I decided to add sketches and poetry and whatever else I felt like doing...

In in you may find leaves, feathers, dried grass, and little things of beauty.

My sandalwood colored pencils and current read are close at hand...

And I always keep my best source of inspiration nearby...
the country diary of an edwardian lady

The most wonderful thing about this book is...
I get to put anything I want in it. Every good and beautiful thing!

Do you have an art journal? If so, I'd love to hear, or especially see, what you like to put in it!

All my love,
Margo

So I realize I am jumping in here WAY late, but I just read this and I too just started working in an art journal I have had for YEARS. Do you remember the vacation we all took the San Juans?! well my parents bought me a really nice, leather-bound journal with thick watercolor paper from there (it looks a lot like yours so maybe it is made by the same person?)...
I JUST started using it and I too have made it into an art journal!!
It is crazy how amazing it feels to fill up its pages when I have been far too intimidated to in the past!
Love this post Margo!

Ha! That's so funny! Yes, I do remember that trip and that journal. Strange.. I was actually thinking about that trip the other day... The San Juans are so beautiful!

That is so great that you have made your book into an art journal! I would LOVE to see it!
Good job. =]

Your art journal is absolutely inspiring and gorgeous! What a great way to use a beautiful book! I used to struggle with writing in journals & notebooks I thought were too pretty to "scratch" in. Looks like you found the solution!
