Sewing Circle

Every month we get together with a few good friends and have our little Sewing Circle. We work on projects, talk, drink tea and eat too many cookies or scones. It's one of my favorite days of the month. It's nice to have a day to just sit and work on your knitting, crocheting or sewing and not feel like you should be getting other things done. Oh what bliss! What joy! The sadness within all of this is that our friends the Jantzens cannot be here to talk and sew and eat and drink with us! We miss you all so much!!!!
I hope that you enjoy these pictures.

Meet Me In St. Louis

There's no such thing as a good movie. Without that classic singing and dancing in there underwear.

I hope you all enjoyed that! Its one of my ALL TIME favorites! (Thanks to Anna!)

Love you all

Turkey, Snow and Sensible People...

WOW! I never thought I would see the day when TWO people thought i was sensible!...wow.... This is a major plus! (Except that the silly party won...oh well it's expected i guess!) Hopefully I won't be the laughing stock of ALL jokes! No doubt most of them though.

I thank you two, for your silliness in thinking i am sensible! And to the four of you who are "sensible" enough for thinking I'm silly! anyone who knows me could tell you I am.

Thursday we'll have family for THANKSGIVING!!!! (Not to eat them thankfully!) I can't Wait to taste that first bite of pumpkin pie or that delicious Cranberry Sauce with Turkey! My Mom went shopping for our thanksgiving dinner today! And just think in three days we'll be able to eat it! Oh how I LOVE foooood!!!

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

PSALM 101

*SNIFFFFF* *sigh* I smell snow in the air finally! I love the winter snow. Its so exiting to see little lace falling from the clouds in the sky. And then of course caching them on your tongue! Building a big ol' snow man with a red hat and pipe. Then after you get one of the finest snow angels. To go inside, And after hanging your stockings over the wood stove, you sit down and drink a mug of hot chocolate with a bowl of snow ice cream. We watch "The Snowman" while our toes defrost. Its one of our favorite Christmas movies that we watch with the first snow. And many times through the winter!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Pride & Prejudice

Click here to see if you have watched Pride and Prejudice too many times (rather, just the right amount).

Veteran's Day Parade

We went to our Veteran's Day Parade last weekend. I always love going and cheering for our country and the men and women who have helped to keep it free and safe for us. We owe so much to them, I think the least we can do is show up to applaud their bravery. So few people actually come anymore because of their "protests" against the war. It is so sad to me. How sad it would be to serve your country and give your life for it and then have the next generation ridicule you, your country and what it stands for. There were a few people there showing support and love to these, our troops and I hope that it blessed them.
I want to take this opportunity to say
THANK YOU!!!
We love you all and are so grateful for all that you have done and are doing right now to promote our safety and freedom.

Ah...Fall!

Baby Showers Everywhere!

Here are some sweet little onesies that Aimee and I made for a friend. She came all the way from Virginia so her family could give her a baby shower for her first baby due in February. (Marguerite says that February babies are always so sweet. Could it be because SHE was born in February?) :) My friend is decorating their son's room with a nautical theme so Aims and I thought we should applique these little onesies to match. Aimee came up with the sun design. Isn't it one of the most adorable things you've ever seen?
These are very quick and easy. All you need is a pack of white (or colored!) onesies, a smidgen of fabric,a teensey bit of embroidery thread, some thread and a needle and creativity and you're set! Now, SOMEONE just needs to have a girl so that we can use up our pink fabric. :)

Our Beautiful Engaged Sister!

So! Our sister Cherie is getting married in March! I thought I should post a picture of her ring for those of you who have been asking what it looks like. Beautiful, yes? It's a pink sapphire in the middle and eight (count 'em, EIGHT) diamonds. :)
It is Cherie's 20th birthday today! Happy Birthday Cherie! You are so beautiful and I can't tell you how much we'll miss you.
Yes, we were talking of wedding plans today. I must say that we had some pretty good ones. Cherie didn't really appreciate our ideas though. I cannot understand why! I mean, I think that a rubber duck theme is perfect! Although the Circus theme was pretty great as well....what do you think?

Yes, well lots to do between now and March! :)

Love, Gen

P.S. Pictures of Angela's ring to come. ;)
