Autumn + Tea + Books

Won't you join me for tea in the garden?

A special treat for an "everyday" sort of day.

Everything has a story hidden somewhere inside, glinting with the light of mystery...

Books for inspiration...

Here is a cozy trivet I made for my Aunt. She took us to a Fiber Fair and I bought some beautiful dyed wool to felt. I used a bright wooly orange for her gift. (and some sparkly yarn, because I couldn't resist, and because I thought it gave it a whimsical quality.) Thank you Aunt J!  ♥

It was my first attempt with this type of "fiber painting"- if you will...
It was very fun and a bit difficult to make look right. But I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. Maybe I'll do a winter one next time...

It was a lovely day... one of the last warm days of October.

Not long after this we got 8 inches of Snow! It was a bit of a rude awakening to Winter! But wonderful too! It was so beautiful! It's mostly melted now, and we are busily preparing for Thanksgiving and you-know-what after!

I hope you all are having a lovely day!
We will be baking and adding the last finishing touches to the house today! I am so excited for one of my most favorite holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

an art journal of mine own

It's been awhile.

How are you dear ones?

I hope and pray that you are all well and able to enjoy this Beautiful Autumn...

As a start, and since I seem to already be on the subject of Art Journals....

Here is my own.

I simply could not bring myself to make a mark inside this book. It was too beautiful.

However... (after several years.. literally) I finally got up the courage (and inspiration) to make something even more beautiful than a blank book.... I made an Art Journal.

Oddly enough... The journal is the same as my sister Genevieve's. We both got one from Mom and both couldn't bring ourselves to use it. And After Gen decided to make it into an Art Journal, well... I decided to do the same. So.. not very original, but very inspired! :)

It started out with just my favorite verses...
Then I decided to add sketches and poetry and whatever else I felt like doing...

In in you may find leaves, feathers, dried grass, and little things of beauty.

My sandalwood colored pencils and current read are close at hand...

And I always keep my best source of inspiration nearby...
the country diary of an edwardian lady

The most wonderful thing about this book is...
I get to put anything I want in it. Every good and beautiful thing!

Do you have an art journal? If so, I'd love to hear, or especially see, what you like to put in it!

All my love,
Margo

Art Journal love

Hi!
I have been scouring the globe (well, the Internet) for beautiful art journals and, interestingly enough while I wasn't looking, I stumbled upon this one... by Grace.

You must go look at this post from Grace's Garden Walk. It is exquisite.

I have been looking all over for inspiration for an art journal and this is absobloominlutely the most prettiest I've found.

You also must listen to the song she has put with her post (one of my absolute favorites --true story-- of all time  by Chopin):
Nocturne No. 2 in E flat major.

Thank you for beautifying our eyes Grace!

Mood Board Recovered

Hello!

Here's a little inspiration on Mood Boarding (Ooh, that's sounds like a sport.)...

I was not a fan of my unfinished yellowy-brown cork board. So I decided to stain the frame a dark walnut and cover the cork with a piece of natural linen. A few stained rags and thumb tacks later and here it is. Much more agreeable to my eyes. It is now a picture of inspiration and happiness to me. =]
