Christmas time is here...

Merry Christmas everyone!

Has Christmas arrived at your house yet? It certainly has here, and Boy am I glad! I love Christmas!

We've been baking, decorating, singing, wrapping presents, going to parties and having a wonderful time celebrating God's best gift! Jesus!!

Love to you all!

Happy Thought

Hello lovely butterfly friends!

Yes, that was completely random.

We're all sick at our house today. Pookey.
So we're all staying home today, resting (hopefully) and taking very strong and healthy concoctions.
Such as apple cider vinegar mixed with cayenne pepper and salt and water. It's called Fire Water. Yeah. It's potent stuff.

Isn't this picture from Anthropologie delicious? Oh! I love their wild quilts and comforters! It makes me want to snuggle down under the covers and just think of nothing else.
And what, to my wondering eye did appear? But the very same chair that I have right beside my own bed! (I am so in. Ha ha!) I'm using it for a "temporary" night stand. Because the only furniture I have to my name is a plant stand. My Mother is very gracious and of course lets me use hers since I'm living at home. Oh, what a comfort to live at home! "What else would bring one anywhere?"
(I think that's from Persuasion...)
It is a very cool plant stand though, that my brother made for me! It was actually supposed to be a night stand, but I didn't want to put it behind my bed cause you couldn't see it back there.
Here it is with the terrarium and orchid I got the same Christmas. Aren't they delightful?
The stand is made from a solid Juniper stump!

Sorry for the terrible pictures. I'll have to get better ones some time.

Anyway.. enough of my ramblings.
I hope you are all feeling well this lovely Spring day!
Adieu,
Marguerite

a book page garland

Hello there! I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving. Ours was splendid! A lovely day, a yummy dinner and a delightful time!

Tomorrow we're going to go cut down a Christmas tree with the fam!
"It's so exciting it makes me giddy!" -Persuasion (...What else?)
We've also been working on Christmas presents which is one of our favorite pastimes I have to say...  And I remembered some pictures I took of a present I got last year from my sweet sister-in-law! A handmade gift of course... and such a good idea! Genius in fact!
It is made out of pretty, blue paper and book pages from one of my favorite books: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader! Although the pictures don't do it justice.
And here it is hanging so nicely above my bookshelf. Very appropriate I must say. =]
She cut out various sizes of circles, bent them in the most charming manner, stapled them onto brown twine and voila!
Isn't it the cutest? I love it!

My favorite line in the book... the opening words: "There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it."

Well, happy days to you all! I wish you all a good night and merry morning!

Happy thoughts...

For your Information-but more for my own thorough enjoyment... (har har)No. 1: I would love to have this house. 70's pillows and all. The stairs are so cool. All the windows (including the one under the stairs) are fabulous and the painted stucco is "the bomb".

No. 2: I adore this mermaid fabric.
No. 3: I would really enjoy wearing this beautiful shirt.
No. 4: Isn't this ship ornament adorable?
No. 5: I want to make a quilt like this one from Anthropologie. Or at least have a quilt just like it. Isn't it divine?

*sigh*
Hope you like. Thanks for letting me vent. I feel better now.

Ch air

it's fun to sit on air.
but if you fall and get a bonkin',
then i suggest you get a chair.

goodness! wouldn't you love it sit in this??
but of course you would need a very neat vintage dress to suit it....

haven't you been inlove with this dress for ages? words fail me to describe it...it's so fabulous!
but it's a lobster! and why WOULDN'T you want a lobster on your dress?
i had a thought... to embroider a lobster on a dress like this one.

"What a day for a daydream," eh?
